WHY DO WE GIVE?
“Bring the full tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. And thereby put me to the test, says the LORD of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you a blessing until there is no more need.“
Malachi 3:10 ESV
As Christ Followers, we believe that we are stewards of God’s resources because He is the owner of all that we have. Throughout scripture, we are commanded to tithe (give a tenth of) on all that God has so generously provided us. On top of this tenth, we are told to give offerings, and we are told to do so cheerfully (2 Cor 9:7).
Therefore, we give because the Bible commands it (Malachi 3:6-15). We give because Jesus Himself commands it (Luke 11:42, Matthew 23:23). We give because we want to bless others and support the church. We don’t give in order to receive blessings, though blessings are promised for those who faithfully give. We don’t give in order to be considered righteous, or as a replacement for seeking the love and justice of God on mankind, though giving is a part of righteousness.
HOW DO WE GIVE?
At Christian Life Church, we have several ways that you can give to God’s work through your tithes and offerings. You can give by using our offering envelopes on Sundays, you can mail a check to our offices, or you can give online using the link above. We ask that no one use credit to give, even if it is a credit card that is paid off every month. The Bible saying Proverbs 22:7 “…the borrower is a slave to the lender.” We do not wish our congregation to go into debt by tithing with a line of credit, be it from a credit card or otherwise (debit cards are fine).
Use the link above to give a one-time donation, setup an automatic giving schedule, and see your giving history. Creating an automatic giving schedule allows you to setup a recurring schedule (weekly, monthly, annually, etc.) for giving, using eChecks, bank accounts or debit cards.
Note: eCheck/bank account transactions cost us much less in fees compared to credit cards. If you set up an eCheck/bank account transaction for online giving, we can put more of each gift towards what it was intended for—making disciples, worshiping God, and loving others
