What We Believe

What We Believe

You want to know what we believe? We like you already! Finding a Bible minded God honoring church is an important thing for all Christians to do. Below you will find our basic and most fundamental beliefs.

We Believe in One God

We believe that there is only one true God, the God of the Bible. God exists as one, all powerful, all knowing being who created everything, including all of us; He is always good, and full of love and justice. God, although being one, consists of three unique and equal Persons (each being fully God and fully unique), the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit; this is known as the “Holy Trinity”.

We Believe in the Bible

We believe the Bible is the Holy Word of God, each word given from God to the human authors who originally put the words on paper. We believe that the Bible, in its original form, is perfect, without error, contradiction, or flaw. The Bible is complete, no extra holy text will ever be needed. Thus, the Bible is the ultimate authority in our church.

We Believe in Jesus Christ

We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, and that He fulfills the “Son” portion of the Trinity. This means that we believe Jesus Christ is God. We believe that Jesus Christ was born around 2,000 years ago (around the year 0) and lived a sinless life. He died on a cross for our sins and rose again three days later.

About Salvation

We believe that we are all sinners (people who do bad things) and fall short of the glory of God. Because of our sins (when we break God’s law) we deserve to go to hell, and not be in heaven, but God gave us a way to be saved from our sins (and thus hell). God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die for our sins, and then rise again on the third day. We believe that the only way to heaven is through the death of Jesus Christ. Jesus said to be saved we must believe in Him, confess our sins to Him (through prayer), and ask Him to help us stop sinning (repentance); then we have to confess Him as Lord over our lives and live for Him!

Here is a great five-minute video explaining why no one is good compared to God’s standards and why we all deserve hell. It sounds harsh, but it’s a simple truth. Go ahead, watch the video and see what you think. The good news is, Jesus died for everyone, so no one has to go to hell!
